1 Box Inbound - Inside/Perimeter Options
5 min Difficulty: Intermediate Age: u16 Court: Half
2 Three-Man Weave
5 min Difficulty: Intermediate Age: u12 Court: Full

Classic transition passing and finishing drill. Three players run the floor, weaving and exchanging passes, finish with a layup at the far end.

Coaching points
• Pass and follow your pass — go behind the player you passed to.
• Bounce passes are out, chest passes only.
• Finish strong: high off the glass, two-foot stop or two-foot jump.
• Sprint, don't jog.
3 Form Shooting Progression
8 min Difficulty: Beginner Age: any Court: Half

Build clean shooting mechanics from close range and work outward. Start under the rim with one-handed form shots, then add the guide hand, then step back as form holds up. The goal is balance, alignment, and follow-through, not distance.

Coaching points
1. One hand only inside 6ft. Shooting hand under the ball, elbow under the ball, fingers spread.
2. Add guide hand at side, no thumb push.
3. Hold follow-through until ball hits the rim.
4. Only step back when the previous spot is consistently clean.
4 Pick & Roll — Read the Hedge
8 min Difficulty: Advanced Age: u16 Court: Half

Two-on-two read. Ball-handler reads the screen defender's coverage and chooses: reject, snake, or pull-up. The screener reads the same coverage and either rolls hard or pops.

Coaching points
Ball-handler reads:
• Hedge (defender steps high) → reject the screen, attack the empty side.
• Drop (defender stays low) → use the screen, pull up at the elbow.
• Switch → attack the mismatch immediately.

Screener reads:
• Hedge → roll hard, your defender is two steps behind.
• Drop → pop to the elbow for the pass back.
5 1v1 Wing Closeout
6 min Difficulty: Intermediate Age: u14 Court: Half

Defender starts under the rim, shooter waits at the wing. On the toss, the defender sprints out, breaks down, and contests live. Live action from the catch — drive, pull-up, or kick.

Coaching points
Defender:
• Sprint the first 2/3, chop steps the last 1/3.
• High hand on shooter's release side.
• Stay attached if they drive, force baseline.

Offense:
• Read the closeout. Tight = drive, loose = shoot.
• Show shot-fake, attack closeout shoulder.
