Defender starts under the rim, shooter waits at the wing. On the toss, the defender sprints out, breaks down, and contests live. Live action from the catch — drive, pull-up, or kick.
Defender:
• Sprint the first 2/3, chop steps the last 1/3.
• High hand on shooter's release side.
• Stay attached if they drive, force baseline.
Offense:
• Read the closeout. Tight = drive, loose = shoot.
• Show shot-fake, attack closeout shoulder.
• Two-pass version: defender closes out, recovers, closes out again.
• Add a help defender to teach gap discipline.
• Score-keep: 1 point catch-and-shoot, 2 pts paint touch, 3 pts and-1.
